Message From Research and Promotions Chair
This is Rodney O. Pacheco research and promotions for ASHRAE 2007-2008 nominee. My goal for this year is to raise more money than last year and come up with new ideas for fund raising campaigns. There will be a fishing tournament this year and I will be assisting in organization of our annual golfing tournament. I am looking forward to accomplish my goals and become number one in the RP chair.
Message From Student Activities Chair My name full name is Weston Edward Gunnarson. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, though I did bounce around to Colorado and Southern California for a few years. When I graduated from high school in 2002 I went to the University of Florida to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. I wasn’t quite sure what field I wanted to end up in, but an enthusiastic professor named Dr. Herbert Ingley convinced me that HVAC&R held the brightest future for me. During the summer of 2006 I completed an internship at the Hill York Corporation, where I came back full time after graduation this past December and have already taken over my own projects. I feel like I couldn’t be more fortunate, and I owe it all to Dr. Ingley and ASHRAE. It is because of this that I have decided to volunteer for the Student Activities Chair, with hopes of reaching out to other students in the same position as me, and giving them the same opportunity had. This year I hope to be able to meet with some students at schools in the area, ideally with each school in the area starting its own chapter, and maybe even convincing some of them to join us for one of our monthly meetings. Let us know if there is a topic you would like to see presented. Contact you Chapter Programs Chair, Erik Walter, at erik.walter@meinhardtusa.com.
