Often times owners, both private and municipal, can not allocate finances
from their capital budgets to accomplish thses energy saving retrofits.
Performance Contracting is an option where by the improvements are paid
for through the ensuing energy savings. Companies known as Energy Saving
Contractors or ESCOs bring together a team of Consulting Engineers and
Mechanical Contractors as well as financing vehicles to make these retrofits
a reality. Learn more how this approach could help your facility, your
consulting firm or contracting business.

A
Message From Our President
First
I would like to apologize to all our members for missing the February
Meeting. There was a family emergency which called me out of town, but
I was extremely disappointed I could not be there for the joint meeting.
I
hear Jason stepped in very successfully which is a good sign for next
year. I also see that our guests both the Association of Energy Engineers
and the Miami Chapter of ASHRAE attended the meeting in good numbers.
With over 70 attendees the meeting was a huge success. The only disappointing
issue is that our Chapter was not very well represented, accounting for
only 30 to 35 members. With the enthusiasm I have seen in our past meetings
this year, I was expecting to see more like 50 to 60 members.
I
will be calling most members this month to rally the troops to make sure
we have a strong showing at this month’s meeting. When you do not
show, it hurts the overall society. Participation is what builds a strong
Chapter; one that is worthwhile being involved in. So lets finish the
year up in the coming months as strong as we started.
Sincerely,
Joe
Fellmeth
